prologue

The door that had closed off the world opened, and a huge white visitor slid out without a sound.

The two girls let out a small exclamation as they watched.

It’s been hundreds of years since this world had a visitor. It had been over a hundred years since the last time that large airlock had been used.

“Hey, hey, look, look. Do you think there’s really an Earthling in that thing?”

“I don’t know.”

The smaller girl’s voice buzzed with interest. The other girl stood next to her and raised her gaze in a contrastingly reserved manner.

The white object was a large medical container with a smooth surface and an almost rectangular shape. The golden patterns that shone everywhere were connector sockets that had been standardized over a thousand years ago, and of course their ship could be connected with the same standard plugs. It was not unusual. You can find such things everywhere.

It’s not the box that’s important. It’s what’s inside that box that’s important.

“Are you okay?”

“What are you talking about now? He’s the master you’ve been waiting for all these years.”

“well. It is, but…”

The smaller girl slapped the other girl on the back and made her take a step forward. A slightly resentful look came back.

In response to her partner’s somewhat indecisive attitude, the petite girl gave a small, throaty laugh.

“I wonder what he’s like. I hope he’s not too much of a jerk.”

“I’m aware that he is a wonderful man.”

“I think it’s better to be prepared for a dirty, smelly, dirty ugly man to show up when you actually meet him.”

“I don’t think so.”

The small girl stopped her modest rebuttal with one hand and sighed languidly.

“Well, we can’t go against them anyway.”
